The prisoner transport curriculum is comprised of nine elements, each containing multiple subject areas. These are designed to provide training to the officer in preparation for the escort, preparing the inmate and escorting staff, vehicle preparation and all facets of transporting an inmate regardless of the mode of transportation. This training prepares the escort detail to perform their duties regardless of the security level of the inmate, length of trip or mode of transportation, including over the road coach and air transport. The officer is also trained in survival skills, weapon retention, proper application of restraints and emergency procedures.
Training Duration: Up to 5 days
Target Audience: Transport Officers and Supervisors.
