Curriculum Design for Corrections and Juvenile Justice Professionals

Curriculum Design for Corrections and Juvenile Justice Professionals

Designing and developing Curriculum to meet agency standards can be one of the most significant challenges that training departments face. Using a unique 10 - step process first developed at the Training Resource Center at Eastern Kentucky University participants will work to develop a lesson plan from start to finish. From the reasons to initiate a training program through the development of performance objectives and instructional strategies, participants will leave the training with the draft of a lesson plan on a topic of their own selection.

To be selected to participate in the course participants must have completed a 40-hour Training for Trainers course, and submit such documentation with their registration form. Participation of teams from a single agency is encouraged. Participants should bring all necessary resource material (agency policy, standards, etc.) to develop a four-hour lesson plan with them.

Training Duration:  3 days

Target Audience: Experienced trainers charged with responsibility for development of curriculum.
